We Believe...

What to Expect

If you're visiting this Sunday, here's what to expect: We dress casually, with a friendly, informal style. If you come early (10 o'clock) there is a time of fellowship with cofee, juice and donuts.

  • Each service starts at 10:30 with a song of worship that centers on God. We then voice a prayer inviting God's presence among us. We continue by singing a few hymns followed by several contemporary songs. Our worship has been called "blended" as we seek to be diverse and "prefer one another" in regard to music preferences. We hope it inspires you and helps you "spiritually connect" with Him. And no fumbling with songbooks! All the words are on a big screen and easy to see, so join in, or sit back and enjoy. Either way, open your heart to experience the power and holy love of Jesus Christ.
  • After singing, we pass the offering plate. Visitors should not feel at all pressured to give. You are our guests.
  • Following the offering, a congregational prayer is voiced. Before doing so we ask those who are present to audibly voice their praise, thanksgiving and requests.
  • Following the congregational prayer, a short sermon is given (usually 20-25 min.).
  • Our service ends with prayer, a special blessing to help you on your journey home.

When you visit, we hope you experience the love of Jesus Christ and the warm acceptance of our church community. Be sure to fill out a visitor card so we have a record of your visit (we promise not to send you gobs of junk mail).

For families with children, Spirit Lake Community Church has child care for younger children (nursery and toddler) and children's church for those up to age 12. Don't hesitate to bring your children!
